We are being flooded with plastic. This plastic crisis has an enormous impact on our health and planet. Yet banks are pumping money into the production of new plastic. In this report FairFin takes a closer look at the money flows to the petrochemical companies INEOS and Borealis.
INEOS and Borealis are planning big new plastic projects in the Port of Antwerp. These projects produce the building blocks of plastic and lock us into a future of decades of plastic production. Producing these building blocks is hugely polluting to the environment and the climate, contrary to what these chemical giants want us to believe.
With this report, FairFin wants to put pressure on banks to stop investing in companies that expand plastic production.
